About Me

Hello and welcome! I’m so glad you’re visiting.

My story is a little unusual. I am a former lawyer (labor and employment litigation), then a legal recruiter, and now I am a spiritual teacher and happiness coach.

Utilizing a variety of ancient spiritual traditions, including mindfulness, meditation, and Toltec tradition, I teach self-awareness and emotional intelligence. Through these various modalities, I help people cultivate peace, love, joy, passion, creativity, and greater satisfaction in their lives.

For a brief (not that brief) account of how I came to this work, you can read about my awakening experience on the blog (link below). The past year on this journey has been an incredible, terrifying, and thrilling transformation out of blind fear, ego, and conditioning, and into self-love, forgiveness, acceptance, and surrender.

I’ve reshaped my life to focus on authenticity, vulnerability, and true connection. You can say that I’ve started to really live, for the very first time in my life. I can show you how to do the same. If you’re interested in setting up individual coaching sessions (by phone or via Skype), you can reach me through any of the links on your right.

I look forward to speaking to you soon!

Since I began my apprenticeship program nearly a year ago, people have come into my life, somewhat spontaneously, seeking guidance. I work with them in a completely intuitive way. Without agenda, we go wherever the conversation takes us. People share their stories, I ask questions, I share my experiences, and offer the wisdom I’ve collected and instructions on implementing that wisdom in each scenario.

Through these sessions, with love and acceptance, I’m able to guide people to their own truths. Together, we take a very deep look within, and what people find is resolution, freedom, happiness, and their own passion for life. What grows within them throughout our sessions is self-love, confidence, and a strong sense of empowerment to pursue their dreams (their real dreams). What I’ve found to be true is that the desire for something different has to come from within. It is not something that can be achieved by force or obligation. If that genuine desire is present, the progress flows quickly and organically.

The wisdom I share isn’t something I’ve created. It doesn’t come from me, but rather it comes through me. It is a collection of ancient wisdom from different spiritual traditions, stripped of any religion or dogma. What I share doesn’t require you to believe in anything. On the contrary, what we endeavor to do is question and investigate your existing beliefs, to find exactly what’s limiting you. Your happiness is already inside of you; all we will do is find what’s blocking you from it.

What is Toltec Tradition?

There is little archaeological evidence (and much debate) surrounding the Toltec civilization. A Mesoamerican culture, preceding the Aztecs, the Toltecs lived in Southern Mexico around 900 AD. After the conquest of Teotihuacan, a secret guild was formed dedicated to the preservation of the spiritual knowledge of the ancient ones. These were men and woman who understood that the reality we know is merely an illusion; a dream of the mind. This group of shamans and healers, known as Naguals, passed down their wisdom and knowledge in secret for centuries.

Several decades ago, in the barrio of San Diego, one such healer named Sarita, and her son don Miguel Ruiz, descendants of one lineage of Naguals, felt the time had come to begin sharing the wisdom and teachings with the world. Through their apprentices and don Miguel’s best selling books, they have been spreading the messages of unconditional love and personal freedom through the process of spiritual self-discovery.

The Toltec Tradition, as taught by don Miguel, is not a belief system. In some sense, its history or pedigree doesn’t matter. It is a method of discovery that anyone can implement and test for himself. Some would call the tradition a path to enlightenment – a pragmatic approach to a releasing of the egoic mind, in order to discover and access the core of unconditional love. Following the three masteries (Awareness, Transformation, and Intent) one systematically uncovers his existing beliefs, expectations, agreements, and assumptions. He sheds his conditioning, and is free to choose a life of peace, joy, love, and incredible passion.
